Vitor Murta quer homenagear o amor e o romance, que entende estarem cada vez mais ausentes nos dias de hoje. Decidiu criar fotografias de beijos que nos fazem viajar no tempo. São fotografias carregadas de amor, mas não só, são fotografias com um traço marcante, estética vincadamente revivalista. São fotografias de época, retratam um período situado entre os anos 40, 50 e 60. Mas afinal, de onde saíram este casais apaixonados em estilo vintage? Da imaginação de Vitor Murta, um fotógrafo que sentiu a “necessidade de mostrar a importância do amor nos dias actuais” e por isso decidiu criar esta série fotográfica a que chamou “ The Kiss, Photography Project”. “Eu andava na rua, não via as pessoas a terem demonstrações de afecto. Até que um dia, andava a passear pelo Porto e vejo ao longe um casal de idosos sentados ali, perto de S. Bento, num fim de tarde ameno. Mão com mão, olhar com olhar e, por fim, um beijo a selar o amor incondicional que se fazia sentir”. “A cena ficou de tal modo gravada na minha memória que serviu de mote a este trabalho”. A partir desse momento, Vitor Murta tomou a decisão de criar “imagens intemporais transformadas em amor, em paz, em cumplicidade, em… Beijos”.
Arregaçou as mangas e deitou mãos à obra. Recriar uma cena de época esteticamente tão marcada, não é tarefa fácil. Primeiro escolhem-se as pessoas e depois vêm os detalhes, que nestas coisas fazem toda a diferença; guarda-roupa vintage, acessórios, cenários antigos que dão credibilidade à cena. “E depois as coisas vão acontecendo gradualmente”. Mas mais importante que tudo isso, é a escolha do sítio certo. É fundamental que sejam “locais com carga emocional muito grande, como por exemplo estações de caminho de ferro, Autocarros, etc”. O resultado final é este conjunto de fotografias que nos fascina e nos recorda a todo o momento, o quanto é intemporal o amor e a nossa vontade de o demonstrar. Qualquer que seja a tipologia do beijo, quer seja um beijo de romance, ou de ternura, há coisas que o tornam especial. Um beijo é, sempre inesquecível, é sempre romântico, é sempre único.
Amem, beijem, sejam românticos. Deixem-se conquistar. Conseguem? Tornar algo simples… em momentos inesquecíveis!

Vitor Murta wants to honor love and romance, which he believes are more and more absent. So he decided to take photographs of kisses to makes us travel back in time. These photographs are filled with love with a striking trait, aesthetically, definitely revivalist. These photographs portrait a period between the 40’s,50’s and 60’s. But, where did all these passionate couples in a vintage style came from? They came from the imagination of Vitor Murta, a photographer that “felt the need to show the importance of love nowadays”, so he decided to create a photograph series to which he called “The Kiss, Photography Project”. “I was walking down the street, and didn’t see people showing affection to each other, until one pleasant afternoon, I was passing by S. Bento rail station in Porto, and in the distance I saw an elderly couple, just sitting there, holding hands and looking at each other with gaze and, finally, a kiss to seal their unconditional love”. “This was so engraved in my memory that served as a motto for this work”. From that moment on, Vitor Murta decided to create “timeless images transformed in peace, in love, in complicity and in …kisses”.
He rolled up his sleeves and started working on his project. Recreating a scene from another era, so aesthetically marked is no easy task. First you choose the characters, then it’s all up to the details, these are the ones that make all of the difference, such as the vintage wardrobe, all the accessories, antique settings… All of these give credibility to the scene “and then, things happen gradually.” The most important step is choosing the right site. It’s fundamental to shoot in “places with a great emotional load, such as railway stations, buses, etc. “The end result is this incredible collection of photographs that fascinates us, and reminds us how timeless love is and our will to demonstrate it. So it doesn’t matter whether it’s a romantic kiss, a tender kiss, a technical kiss, there are things that make it special. A kiss is always a kiss, it’s always romantic, unforgettable, and always unique.
So love, kiss, be romantic and allow yourselves to be conquered. Can you do that? Make something simple… in an unforgettable moment!
